About Uttaranchal University
Established in 2013 under the Uttaranchal University Act, 2012 (Uttarakhand Act No. 11 of 2013), Uttaranchal University is a leading private university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and has earned an A+ Grade accreditation from NAAC. Founded by the Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies & Research, the University is committed to delivering quality education through experiential learning, research, innovation, and a multidisciplinary approach aligned with NEP 2020.

Rankings, Recognition and Global Presence
Uttaranchal University has strengthened its national and international presence through notable rankings and recognitions. The University has featured in the WURI Rankings from 2022 to 2026 and the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, it secured 5th position nationally and 25th internationally under UNSDG Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy in the THE World Impact Rankings. The University has also been included in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, QS Sustainability Rankings, and THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025. Additionally, the School of Pharmacy (Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences) achieved 75th rank in NIRF 2025, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
